If you love listening to a music with super loud bass, then here’s a circuit that can help you boost the bass. There are many ways to boost the bass and I will be sharing some of the most simple ways. And of course the simulation result, if it works on the simulation then it will also work on the actual.
The circuit
The circuit is very simple and only needs few components.
Circuit Response
The Circuit can give around 10dB bass boost. If you want more, you can modify the circuit. Lowering the R2 will result to higher bass boost gain. Increasing C5 will give more boost at lower frequencies. And increasing C2 will shift the center frequency to the left. It will also make the width of the boosted frequency narrower and will affect the overall gain.
Transistor Implementation
If you are not a fan of op-amps and wants a simple BJT circuit, here’s for you.
Frequency Response
NOTES:
- In music, most of the power is consumed on the lower end of frequency called Bass frequency. Increasing the bass will affect the loudness of the system. Since you will direct most of the power to the bass frequencies, it will also make your system less louder that it was.
- This circuit is not an amplifier and can’t be connected to the speaker directly. It will be connected between the input of the amplifier and the signal source.
